Turkish dailies on Wednesday dedicated their front pages mostly to news about Turkish court's decision on Youtube ban,Turkish warships that reached the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, the first African voyage by the Turkish navy after 148 years, and Egyptian presidential candidate Abdel Fattah Sisi's campaign promises, in which he says "Muslim Brotherhood will not return as an organization."
"Our sailors at Cape of Good Hope" titled SABAH. The daily said Turkish warships that sailed off from Turkey's Golcuk navy yard on March 17 reached the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa once again after 148 years.
"They are in Africa after one and a half centuries" says daily AKSAM in its title, referring to the Turkish warships. The daily advised that the Turkish navy crossed the Cape of Good Hope 148 years ago with two Ottoman corvettes, which were in charge of guarding the Ottoman pilgrims.
HURRIYET carries the title "Youtube is opening" regarding the Turkish court's decision on the Youtube ban. "Ankara's fourth Administrative Court ruled to end Turkey's block on the video sharing website Youtube," the daily reported.
Under the title "Decision on 'Youtube should be accessed," the daily MILLIYET stated that Ankara's fourth Administrative Court halted proceedings regarding the temporary ban on the website. The court said that the ban was against the decisions of the European Convention on Human Rights, European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Court.
Turkish dailies also covered the Egyptian presidential candidate Abdel Fattah Sisi's first TV interview of his campaign since the bloody coup that toppled country's fırst democratically elected president aired late on Monday.
Daily STAR ran the headline "First promise is fascism" referring to the campaign promise of Sisi. The daily reported that Sisi said that the Brotherhood did not meet the demands of the people. The paper also included the criticisim of the Muslim Brotherhood, which said "all the leaders that say the brotherhood will be finished are gone."
Similarly, AKSAM wrote: "I will wipe Muslims out" referring to Sisi's campaign promise. In the article, the paper said that one of the promises of Sisi was to finish the Muslim Brotherhood.
