ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday met with "wise men and women" of Turkey in a meeting titled "Consultation Meeting of the Wise Men and Women Delegation in the Solution Process" in Istanbul.
Speaking at the inauguration of the meeting at the Prime Ministry Office in Dolmabahce, Istanbul, Prime Minister Erdogan underlined that the "delegation here today was a summary, model and representation of Turkey's whole 'wise men and women'."
I must remind you that the mission we have undertaken is more important than the magazine aspect of who is involved in the process, Erdogan stated.
Surely, the common point of all present here is to solve a problem that has turned into a gangrene, Erdogan underlined.
Everyone here is concerned with ending a problem that leads to death and bloodshed of individuals, Erdogan emphasized.
I say every time that we will continue to listen to those within this delegation and out of it by being highly careful, Erdogan said.
Everyone should know that the history of Turks and Kurds is not made up of only the past 29 years, Erdogan noted.
Those who put aside a relationship of a thousand years and try to create enmity over the past 29 years can not understand the historic friendship and brotherhood, Erdogan underlined.
Those who can not see our common past can not understand our common future, Erdogan said.
"This problem not only threatens our domestic peace, societal unity, tranquility and happiness but also our goals for 2023 and poses risks to security and stability," Erdogan noted.
"The reality is that the period in which seeing deadlock as a solution is now over," Erdogan stated.
"Those who are against a solution propose for the continuation of killings and bloodshed in Turkey. We do not want our country or nation to pay this price," Erdogan stressed.
"An understanding which tolerates giving a certain number of martyrs and paying high costs every year can not be humane or be associated with conscience," Erdogan said.
"This process we have named 'solution process' is one to carefully repair injured feelings, establish mutual confidence, and to raise the law of brotherhood," Erdogan emphasized.
"We have no intention or aim other than ending terror and strengthening our nation and brotherhood," Erdogan said.
"We want our friends here to put their hearts on the process as their works of art," Erdogan also said.
Prime Minister Erdogan came together with the "wise men and women" as part of the solution process in Turkey to end the Kurdish problem.
