ANKARA
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will not attend two local elections rallies scheduled for Friday in the central Anatolian provinces of Konya and Kayseri to rest his vocal voice, his office said.
Erdogan lost his voice Thursday during election rallies in the eastern provinces of Van and Diyarbakir as the end of a busy campaign season approaches. Local elections are scheduled Sunday across the country.
According to the statement, Erdogan will rest in his Istanbul house Friday. The day's AK Party rallies will be held with the participation of the regions’ deputy and mayoral candidates.
