Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek on Friday came to Almaty after completing talks in the Kazakh capital of Astana.
Cemil Cicek visited the new campus of the Suleyman Demirel University in Almaty and addressed the students there.
"The European Union (EU) brings up quarrel in order not to let in Turkey. We fulfill all criteria but they find excuses not to let Turkey into the union," Cicek stressed.
"Kazakhstan has come a long way during the strong administration of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Kazakhstan is the shining star of the geography," Cicek underlined.
"As the Turks of Anatolia, we are happy to see Kazakhstan's success. Educational institutes, as yours, have an important task in the development of Kazakhstan. I thank all, including relevant presidents, who have made this institute and others possible," Cicek noted.
"Kazakh and Turkish people will continue to exist forever in two separate geographies but as part of the same nation," Cicek stated.
"We are two separate parts of the same nation. We are two separate states. We were the first country to recognize Kazakhstan's independence. This is a cause of great pride for the Turks of Anatolia," Cicek underlined.
"As a brother of Kazakhstan, we have done all was possible and will continue to do whatever is possible so Kazakhstan reaches the international position that it deserves," Cicek said.
"Our relation with Kazakhstan is not one of interests. It is a relationship based on hearts," Cicek also said.
The Rector of the Suleyman Demirel University, Mesut Akgul later informed Cicek about their new campus.
