ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek has received Costa Rican Foreign Minister Enrique Castillo Barrantes on Monday.
Speaking before the meeting, Cicek voiced his pleasure to see visiting minister at Turkish Parliament and noted that although two countries are far away, Turkey pays special attention to develop its ties with Latin America and Costa Rica. Speaker Cicek added embassies will be opened in near future and once it is opened the relation between the two countries will rapidly increase.
In response, FM Barrantes said there are many issues that the two countries can collaborate on. “We are aware of Turkey’s importance in the region and the world. Turkey shows leadership in various fields such as Syria,” he stated. The visiting minister also stated the opening of embassies will further develop the ties. Barrantes also called on Turkish business circles to make an investment in his homeland.
Earlier in the day, Costa Rican FM Barrantes met with Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu.
