ANKARA
Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek on Sunday departed for Pakistan.
Cicek will participate in a meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in capital Islamabad.
ECO is a regional intergovernmental organization consisting of ten member states: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
It is the successor organization to the Regional Cooperation for Development (RCD), which was established in 1964 by Iran, Turkey, and Pakistan.
The organization seek ways to develop cooperation for sustainable socio-economic development for people of the region.
