ANKARA
The Turkish Parliament, which was inaugurated on April 23, 1920, will convene on Wednesday with a special agenda to celebrate the anniversary of its 94th inauguration.
Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek and political parties' leaders at the parliament will address a speech to the general assembly on the parliament's 94th inauguration.
Additionally, the motion to set up a parliamentary inquiry committee to investigate four former ministers accused of corruption will also be debated at the parliament on Thursday.
The four former ministers - Muammer Guler, Erdogan Bayraktar, Zafer Caglayan, and Egemen Bagis left the cabinet in the wake of graft investigations that were launched Dec. 17. Guler, Bayraktar and Caglayan resigned and Bagis left during a cabinet reshuffle.
The former ministers submitted an application for a committee to be formed to the Office of the Parliament Speaker in March. The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) also made four separate applications to the Turkish Parliament for setting up an inquiry committee.
The rulling AK Party MPs are due to withdraw CHP's application at the general assembly, however, they are expected to grant the application of the four former ministers.
