ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Monday met with the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy on Cyprus, Alexander Downer in Turkish capital of Ankara.
Sources told the AA that Downer provided information to Davutoglu on his talks in the Greek Cypriot administration, in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greece.
Davutoglu and Downer exchanged views on the process in Cyprus.
Davutoglu reiterated Turkey's commitment to a solution in Cyprus.
Ahmet Davutoglu told Downer that TRNC's call for talks was crucial and should receive a response by the Greek Cypriot administration.
Minister Davutoglu in details explained Turkey's views on Greek Cypriot remarks made regarding natural gas in the Mediterranean Sea to Downer.
Downer will travel to Athens and Cyprus after completing talks in Ankara.
