ANKARA
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan attended a ceremony in Ankara in which the chairman of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Rifat Hisarciklioglu and Vice President of Middle East Affairs of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Lionel C. Johnson signed a memorandum of understanding to boost commercial relations between Turkey and the United States.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ali Babacan said that he believed the MoU signed on Friday between the Turkish and U.S. business organizations would create new markets for the businesspeople of the two countries.
"One of the first activities of today's agreement will take place in Washington. Later on, we will hold a 'Turkey Week' in the United States during which Turkish businesspeople would meet with U.S. counterparts in various states," Babacan also said.
