Turkey’s Cooperation and Coordination Agency, TIKA, has provided aid to hundreds of Afghan families who fled conflict in Afghanistan’s northern Samangan province, the organization said Sunday.
The agency has distributed humanitarian materials consisting of food packages to a total of 300 families in Aybak, the provincial capital of Samangan.
TIKA's coordinator in Mazar-i Sharif, Kemal Kadir Karadogan, and officials from Aybak and Samangan took part in the aid program.
"Turkey always sides with oppressed people," said Karadogan.
Turkey's government-run TIKA, established in 1992, is responsible for implementing the country’s developmental cooperation policies overseas.
The agency offers aid to more than 40 countries around the world.
