ANKARA
According to figures of Science, Industry & Technology Ministry, exports of software sector rose 75 percent in the past four years and reached 3.1 billion Turkish lira as of the end of 2011.
The sector's growth is expected to reach 3.5 billion TL by the end of 2012.
Informatics market in Turkey grows 14 percent averagely each year.
A total of 1,060 software companies are operating in 32 technology development zones in Turkey, and nearly 9,000 people are being employed in these companies. When other software companies (out of technology development zones) are included, the number of software companies across Turkey reaches 2,316.
46 percent of software companies is operating in Istanbul, while 20 percent in Ankara.
