Turkey's sectoral confidence indices increased for services and retail trade and decreased for construction in April 2013.
Turkey's statistical institute (TurkStat) announced on Wednesday that the confidence index which was 102.2 for services, 111.4 for retail trade and 94.9 for construction sectors in previous month became 110.8, 113.6 and 92.6 respectively in April 2013. Services confidence index increased by 8.4 percent.
The increase in the services confidence index stemmed from the improvements in business situation over the past three months, demand-turnover over the past three months and demand-turnover expectation over the next three months. The related sub-indices increased by 14.6 percent, 13.6 percent and 0.8 percent respectively in April.
Increases in business activity-sales over the past three months sub-index by 9.4 percent and business activity-sales expectation over the next three months sub-index by 0.3 percent lead to the increase in the retail trade confidence index in April compared to the previous month. Current volume of stock sub-index decreased by 2.4 percent compared to the previous month.
The decrease in the construction confidence index stemmed from the decline in total employment expectation over the next three months sub-index by 4.3 percent in April. The current overall order books sub-index increased by 0.8 percent comparing to previous month.
