BAGHDAD
Turkish main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday and said they wanted to show Turkey's sincere face to Iraq with this visit.
Upon an invitation by Iraqi PM Nuri al-Maliki, Kilictaroglu firstly had a tete-a-tete meeting with the minister of state for provincial affairs Turhan Mufti.
Kilictaroglu said, "l thank Iraq for their hospitality" and added "we want to live with our neighbouring countries in peace therefore, our economic and cultural relations with them should be improved".
Before arriving in Iraq, Kilicdaroglu had said that his Iraq visit would aim to protect Turkey's interests in Iraq and to reinforce stability in the region.
