A statement from the Republican People's Party (CHP) on Thursday said the AK Party is "not sincere in its proposal since it has not frozen the negotiations on bill for amendment to HSYK (Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors) in Justice Committee and thus hereby we reject it."

Speaking at the closure of Inter-Parliaments Exchange and Dialogue Project, Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek said that the solution to HYSK restructuring lies in constitutional amendment.
"Four political parties in the parliamentary Justice Committe have come up with a model for HSYK. We can carve it to compromise on and make a constutional amendment because the true and substantial solution to the HSYK issue lies in constutional ammendment," said Cicek. "There is still room for dialogue and compromise."

Turkey's constitution does not need to be amended in order for changes to the countries top judicial body to be made, Turkey's Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said on Thursday.
Turkey's justice committe has been debating government proposed amendments to the HSYK since last Friday in the aftermath of an anti-graft investigation launched on December 17.
Bozdag was addressing Turkish ambassadors on the fourth day of their week-long sixth annual Turkish Ambassadors' Conference in Ankara.
He said judicial amendments made in 2010 left open possibility of future amendments being made without constitutional changes.
"The proposed amendments in the draft law do not change the new structure of HSYK, which was established in 2010 with the constitutional referendum," said Bozdag.
