This is my first visit to USA as the Chairman of Republican People's Party (CHP), said Kemal Kilicdaroglu on Saturday prior to his flight to the US at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.
"The purpose of our is visit to exchange opinion, thought, principle and values of CHP with our American counterparts," the chairman said.
Kilicdaroglu stressed that he was visiting the USA upon the invitation of the US Congress and three think tanks.
Kilicdaroglu said that he would make official contacts at the White House, alongside contacts with the authorities of US foreign office and the Pentagon.
Kilidaroglu will also hold a press conference on the last day of his visit.
