Turkey's interior minister meets Croatian counterpart in Rome

Turkey's Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu on Thursday met in Rome with Davor Bozinovic, Croatia’s deputy prime minister and interior minister.

Soylu is in Italy to receive an award from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean for the Women Emergency Assistance Notification System (KADES), a Turkish app giving women a hotline to security forces if they face domestic violence.

Before attending the award ceremony at Italy’s parliament, Soylu started bilateral meetings at the Turkish Embassy in Rome, where he held a one-hour closed-door meeting with his Croatian counterpart.

The two top diplomats discussed strengthening cooperation on irregular migration and fighting terrorism as well as cooperation during disasters and emergency situations.
