Turkey's inflation rates announced

Consumer prices index (CPI) rose 0.15 percent and producer prices index (PPI) increased 1 percent in May 2013.

TurkStat, Turkey's statistical authority, announced inflation rates of Turkey on Monday. 

Annual inflation was posted as 6.51 percent in consumer prices index, and 2.17 percent in producer prices index as of May 2013. 

Economists who took part in the Anadolu Agency's (AA) "Inflation Expectation Survey" have predicted that the consumer prices index in May would be around 0.46 percent.

With the attendance of 16 economists, according to the survey resuls that the highest expectation of economists for the inflation rate for the month of May was 0.6 percent while the lowest was 0.15 percent.

On the other hand, participated economists predicted that the average inflation rate at the end of the year would be 6.65 percent. The highest of those predictions was 7.3 percent while lowest was 6.06 percent.
