Turkey's income from tourism in the third quarter of 2012 (July-August-September) dropped 4.1 percent when compared to the same term last year and was recorded as 8.9 billion USD.
According to tourism figures released by Turkey's statistics authority, TurkStat, on Tuesday, 79.2 percent of tourism income in the third quarter came from foreign nationals while 20.8 percent came from Turks living overseas.
A tourist spent 576 USD in average in the third quarter of 2012 in Turkey.
The number of tourists visiting Turkey in the third quarter of 2012 went up 3.7 percent when compared to the same period last year and was recorded as 15.5 million.
Spending by Turkish tourists overseas went down 12.1 percent in the third quarter of 2012 when compared to the same term last year and was recorded as 918.2 million USD.
A Turkish tourist spent 666 USD in average in the third quarter of 2012.
