ISTANBUL (AA) - August 1, 2012 - Chief religious leader of Turkey's Jewish community hosted a fast-breaking dinner on Tuesday in Istanbul.
"For centuries we have been together, shared joy and pain together, and lived the same fate and shed tears for the same sorrows. And without a doubt, this will be the same in the future," Chief Rabbi Isak Haleva of Turkish Jewish community told the dinner at Istanbul's Neve Shalom Synagogue.
Haleva also said Turkey constituted a remarkable example of cultural richness, adding that the country welcomed peoples from different religions, faith, race and languages who lived together in peace and mutual trust.
