Turkey's automotive exports were up by 9.2 percent in February over the same month a year earlier to $1,787 million, data showed.
Exports were up also in the first two months of 2013 by 1.9 percent to $3,278 million despite a 5.7 percent drop in January due to shrinking European demand.
Automotive sector, often praised as "the locomotive" of the Turkish economy, claimed a 15.3 percent share in the country's overall exports for the month of February which totaled $11.7 billion.
