ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Saturday's deadly attack on a checkpoint in the southeast of Libyan capital Tripoli.
The ministry said Monday that Turkey condemned the attack aimed at harming the security and stability of Libya, which the statement said, has been in a democratic transition process.
"We extend our heartfelt condolence and sympathy to the families of those killed and injured in the attack," the statement said.
The statement emphasized Turkey's full support for Libyan people and the state.
The Libyan government declared three days of mourning in the country after unidentified gunmen killed 16 soldiers and left four others wounded in an attack on a military checkpoint between Bani Walid and Tarhuna last Saturday.
