Turkey’s ruling party candidate elected Aksaray mayor

ANKARA

Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party candidate has been elected mayor of the central province of Aksaray on Sunday.

Evren Dincer bagged 45,040 votes, while opposition Nationalist Movement Party's (MHP) candidate Sefer Alkan got 43,487 votes, according to unofficial results.

Earlier, millions of Turkish voters cast their votes in the local elections to choose Turkey’s mayors, city council members, mukhtars (neighborhood officials), and members of elder councils for the next five years.
