ANKARA
Turkey has once again condemned the Srebrenica genocide and criticized efforts to deny the massacre resulted with the murder of thousands of Bosnian Muslims.
Releasing a statement to mark the 17th anniversary of the genocide, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Turkey recalled with great sorrow the atrocities acknowledged as genocide by the International Court of Justice, perpetrated 17 years ago in the city of Srebrenica in Bosnia-Herzegovina, claiming lives of more than 8,000 Bosniak men.
Turkey to keep assisting Bosnian people, premier says
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also underlined Turkey would keep working for peace, prosperity and tranquility in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Delivering a speech at his party's meeting in Ankara, Erdogan made remarks about the 17th anniversary of Srebrenica massacre.
Turkish deputy premier attends remembrance ceremony
Moreover,Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag attended remembrance ceremony to mark the 17th anniversary of Srebrenica massacre.
Bozdag and accompanying delegation visited Potocari cemetery and museum.
Delivering a speech, Bozdag said that July was "the month of sorrow" for Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"We are here to share pain of our brothers and sisters in Bosnia-Herzegovina," he said.
