"Turkey will continue to stand side by side with the Somali people. You are the first MPs ever to be elected in more than 20 years. And you have great opportunities ahead," Davutoglu said Wednesday in an address to lawmakers at the Somali national assembly.
As part of his visit in capital Mogadishu, the Turkish foreign minister is expected to meet with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud before departing for Djibouti to participate in ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
