EDIRNE
The head of European Union's (EU) Turkey Delegation, Ambassador Jean-Maurice Ripert on Wednesday said that Turkey and the EU held talks for a readmission agreement.
Speaking at a press conference in the north-western province of Edirne along with the ambassadors of Bulgaria, Greece and Ireland serving in Ankara, Ripert indicated that "Turkey and the EU completed talks for a readmission agreement, reached an agreement last February and that the agreement was waiting for signatures."
"We do hope that such an agreement gets signed in the near future," Ripert underlined.
Ambassador Ripert noted that they made several visits regarding border management in Turkey.
