ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Ministry on Wednesday condemned the bomb attacks which killed 70 people and wounded at least 200 others in Iraq.
According to initial reports, 70 people were killed and at least 200 others were injured in several bomb attacks in various districts of Baghdad on Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a written statement.
"We wish God's mercy to our Iraqi brothers, condole their relatives and Iraqi people, and wish urgent recovery for the wounded," stated the ministry.
The ministry added, "We feel great sorrow and concern for the increase of violence in our neighbor Iraq".
"We call for all Iraqi leaders, first and foremost Iraqi government to intensify their efforts to prevent the reprehensible attacks to bring peace and security to the country," said the ministry.
Finally the statement emphasized that Turkey would continue to be by the Iraqi people's side in their fight against terrorism.
