ANKARA
Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Wednesday said that they were watching with deep sadness and concern the spread of incidents from Azerbaijani territory under occupation to the common border of Azerbaijan and Armenia and that resulted in death of soldiers.
In a written statement released Wednesday, the Turkish MFA stressed that the latest incidents that caused loss of lives showed once more that a deadlock in the Upper Karabakh issue may cause serious and irreversible results.
The continuation of the status quo sitting on sensitive and fragile balances does not help the interests of any side, the MFA noted adding that such a continuation only deepened wounds.
We renew our call to relevant sides to act with common sense, refrain from utilizing force and take steps to solve the Upper Karabakh issue peacefully. Within this frame, Turkey will continue efforts to help normalization in the region with determination, the MFA also said.
