ANKARA
At least 34 Turkish security personnel have been killed across Turkey in militant groups' attacks since July 7, according to data compiled by Anadolu Agency.
According to the data, at least 12 civilians, including an Iranian national were also killed in such attacks, while 132 people, including three Iranians were injured during the same period between July 7 and Aug. 13.
During this period, more than 120 vehicles were also allegedly set ablaze by militant groups. Moreover, 38 militants were killed and eight others wounded during clashes with security forces.
Turkish Armed Forces have continued to target far-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), the Patriotic Revolutionist Youth Movement (YDG-H), Daesh and Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) positions inside and outside the country. In operations conducted until Aug. 1, a total of 390 suspected PKK militants, including alleged senior members, were killed and over 400 other suspects were injured.
Since July 24, 1,754 suspects were detained and of those, 407, were put behind bars, after a July 20 suicide bombing in the southeastern Suruc district, which killed 32 civilians, was followed by attacks against security personnel in Turkey.
The attack has since led to an extensive anti-terrorism effort by the Turkish government, which saw Turkish jets bomb PKK camps at home and in northern Iraq, including Qandil Mountains, along with airstrikes against Daesh in Syria.
Turkey, the U.S. and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist group.
