TIKA donates computers to Central African Republic

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has donated 30 computers to the Central African government during a visit by a delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
TIKA coordinator Mehmet Yazgan "has reiterated Turkey's keenness on supporting the Central African Republic to restore peace", according to a Central African source.
Central African Prime Minister André Nzapayéké, for his part, thanked Ankara for the gesture and pledged to work to bolster cooperation between his country and Turkey.
The mineral-rich country descended into anarchy one year ago when Muslim Seleka rebels ousted Christian president Francois Bozize, who had come to power in a 2003 coup.
Since last December, thousands, mostly Muslims, have been killed in sectarian bloodletting throughout the country blamed on the anti-balaka militia, which is mainly made up of Christians.
According to the UN refugee agency, around 200,000 Muslims had been displaced in the country.
TIKA offers aid to 49 countries around the world as Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan, Myanmar and Yemen.
Turkey offered $2.5 billion in aid in 2012, according to a TIKA report.
