A total of 65 people including 14 children were killed by the Syrian regime forces, in the capital of Damascus on Monday, activists said.
Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), a London-based group that tracks civilian and dissident casualties, said that Assad forces killed 32 in the suburbs of capital Damascus, 11 in Hama, six in Homs, six in Aleppo, four in Idlib, two in Dera, two in Deir al-Zor, one in Raqqah and one in Latakia were killed.
Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) said Douma, Zamalka, Dariya, Jobar, Kabun and Yarmouk regions of the city were attacked with howitzer and rockets and there was an exchange of fires between the Free Syrian Army and the Assad regime forces in Harasta and East Ghouta. There were also clashes in Aleppo, the SRGC added.
Meanwhile Syrian news agency SANA said security forces made major gains against the Syrian opposition.
