SANLIURFA (AA) - September 19, 2012 - Syrian opposition forces seized on Wednesday a crossing on the border with Turkey, pulling and tearing down the Syrian flag and some posters of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Opponent soldiers fired in the air to celebrate after taking control of a customs building at the Tal Abyad border gate following fierce clashes that continued on Tuesday. Their kinsmen in Turkey joined them in their celebration from across the Turkish side of the border.
Ambulances carried wounded opposition fighters, rushing them to hospitals in Turkey, as Turkish military took tight security measures on the Turkish side of the crossing.
