HATAY
Syria closed its Babel Hava border crossing to vehicles with Turkish licence plate on Saturday.
An executive of the International Transporters' Association of Turkey said vehicles which left Turkey's Cilvegozu border crossing in Reyhanli town of the southern province of Hatay returned back to Turkey as they were not allowed to enter Syria at the Babel Hava border crossing.
"We do not allow vehicles to leave Cilvegozu border crossing for life security reasons," Hamit Sanverdi, a member of the association's executive board, told AA correspondent.
Gunshots heard from Syria
On the other hand Turkish villagers said on Saturday that gunshots were heard from Syria.
People living in some villages in Yayladagi town of the southern province of Hatay said that they heard gunshots from Syrian towns along Turkish-Syrian border.
