Three suspected Daesh members, who were detained earlier this week, have been remanded into custody over an alleged terror plot in Istanbul, security sources said Thursday.

According to security sources, the trio, including a Syrian and an Iraqi national, were planning terrorist attacks in the city.

The custodies came Thursday after Saturday's suicide attack in Istanbul killed five people, including the bomber and injured 45 others.

The bomber was identified by authorities as Mehmet Ozturk, who was born in southeastern Gaziantep province in 1992. Ozturk is suspected of having links with Daesh.

Earlier, a court in Istanbul remanded another suspect into custody over the attack while the suicide bomber’s two brothers were released on bail late Wednesday.

Two people, including the attacker’s father were also released without any charges.

In addition to the weekend blast, Daesh has been linked to a number of other suicide bombings in Turkey in recent months, including the January attack in Sultanahmet that killed 12 German tourists and the October 2015 attack on a rally in Ankara that killed 103 people.
