ANKARA
The total reserves of Turkey's Central Bank decreased by US$6.7 billion to US$124.2 billion in January 2014, compared with US$131.3 billion in December 2013.
According to the Central Bank, its gross foreign exchange reserves were down by US$6.2 billion to US$102.9 billion in January from US$109.28 billion in December 2013.
The bank's gold reserves have also dropped to US$19.6 billion from US$20.77 billion.
During January, the Central Bank sold US dollars to halt a fall in the value of the Turkish Lira.
