GAZIANTEP, Turkey
Educational activities were disrupted due to the coronavirus outbreak worldwide, but the Turkish and Foreign Languages Research and Application Center (TOMER) continues to teach Turkish to students in 23 countries.
Ahmet Ozpay, head of the TOMER department of Gaziantep University (GU), said in a statement that the university continued teaching Turkish despite the setbacks following the pandemic.
Ozpay said a remote education policy was adopted and students from 23 nations received Turkish lessons.
In addition, a new project regarding academic and vocational proficiency training will be held outside Turkish territory, in Jarabulus, Al-Bab and Afrin provinces of Syria – which were cleared of terror elements with Turkish counter-terrorism operations.
