ISTANBUL
Security forces have seized more than 60 kilograms of heroin and around 267,000 drug tablets in two separate operations in Istanbul on Friday, according to police.
The Istanbul Narcotics Branch Office team have also taken into custody two suspects Yahya A. and his son in Istanbul’s Buyukcekmece district, .
In addition, police seized two unlicensed guns, bullets and a notebook in which it is suspected drug sale records were kept in Yahya A.’s home.
Police officials announced that they have launched an investigation regarding the people whose names were mentioned in the notebook.
While Yahya A. was arrested, his son was released from custody.
In another operation in Istanbul’s Bayrampasa district, Turkish police seized around 267,000 drug tablets and two precision scales.
Police waited at the house to apprehend four suspects. Close to five kilograms of marijuana were seized in one of the suspects’ car.
The four suspects were arrested after interrogation.
