Police seize 10,000 opiate pills, cocaine in S. Turkey

ADANA, Turkey

Turkish security forces seized 10,000 opiate pills and around 140 grams (0.30 pounds) of cocaine during anti-narcotics operation, a security source said on Saturday.  

The anti-drug police squad detained two suspects in an operation in Seyhan district of the southern province of Adana and produced them in court, said the source who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspect, identified by the initials K.A., brought the drugs in a bag to Adana by bus; the second suspect, identified by the initials A.D., was waiting for him at the bus terminal.

Following procedures at the police station, both suspects were remanded in custody.
