GAZIANTEP

Cengiz Albacak, spokesman of the press center of Turkish General Staff, said on Tuesday that the Patriot air defense system in the southeastern Gaziantep province was now active.

Albacak said that the Patriots which Turkey demanded from NATO were deployed in southeastern provinces of Adana, Kahramanmaras and Gaziantep.
The units in Gaziantep have become active as of 10:00 a.m. today, he said.
Meanwhile, 10th Air & Missile Defense Commander Steve Richmond said that in case of a threat, the orders to take action would be given by NATO.
Turkey had demanded Patriots from NATO in order to protect its borders in case of a missile threat from Syria.
