Ottoman cuisine were presented with a special event in Rome.
The event named as "Dinner with Ottomans" was held in "Giuseppe Tucci" National Museum of Oriental Art.
The author of "Grand Ottoman Cuisine: History of Culture and Taste" Associate Prof. Maria Pia Pedani made a presentation about Ottoman cuisine.
"Ottoman cuisine is a very tasteful harmony which contains very different elements that came from different cultures" said Pedani.
Pedani pointed out "Turkish cuisine were directly affected by the regions and communities at the time of migration of Turks from Asia to Anatolia. China, Persia, Arabia, Seljuk Empire, Byzantium Empire shaped Turkish cuisine till Ottoman Empire took its final touch".
After the presentation, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Rome, Hakki Akil said this event was very successful for presenting "our rich Ottoman cuisine with great number of participation and added everyone talks about the tastes of our dishes".
In the event, participants enjoyed Ottoman dishes such as stuffed vegetables, pastry, lamb with chestnuts roasted on the tandoori and, as dessert, baklava, as well as saffron-rice dessert.
