BRUSSELS (AA) - European Union (EU) sources said that if no extraordinary developments about the Gezi Park incidents happen, there would be no problem to open the new negotiation chapter “Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments” for Turkey's EU membership bid, on June 26.
Sources told AA that Germany wants to wait a couple of days if the disproportionate force against the protestors still continued before they approve to open the new chapter.
The members of the EU will decide about the final decision to open a new chapter on Turkey's membership negotiations after three years at the Permanent Representatives Committee (COREPER) next week.
