JEDDAH Head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has called on delegates of its member states at the UN Human Rights Council to hold an urgent meeting to discuss the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, and to process holding a special meeting of the international Human Rights Council.
He called for an immediate request be made to send an international fact-finding mission to the Gaza Strip in order to expose Israeli attacks against innocent civilians.
This OIC initiative comes a few days after the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Djibouti on 15-17 November 2012, which had also called, on the first day, that the UN Security Council should shoulder its responsibilities towards the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
