BOSTON
Boston Governor Deval Patrick said there was no one in custody regarding the double blasts that targeted the Boston Marathon.
Two bombs went off near finish line killing three people, including an 8-year-old child, and wounding over 170 others.
Although previous media reports claimed that a suspect had been taken into custody, FBI authorities later cancelled a press conference about the details of the investigation, and media outlets had to withdraw their reports about the apprehension of a suspect who was seen on camera footage while planting a package carefully near a trash can.
Governor Patrick said that "a very thorough, a very methodical investigation" was underway. He added that crime scene was being combed inch by inch.
US President Barack Obama was expected to travel to Boston on Thursday and attend an interfaith service in memory of the bombing victims.
