ANKARA
Speaking on Sunday at a congress of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party in the Turkish capital, Ankara, Ghannouchi said Turkey supported with full strength revolutions of the Arab Spring, adding the AK Party "carried Turkey to heart of the Muslim nations after the country lived on the margins of the history for more than 100 years."
Ghannouchi said all revolutions of the Arab Spring can take Turkey as a guide in securing a harmonious balance between modernity and tradition.
Also speaking at the congress, former Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said the congress was a testimony to the importance AK Party attached to plurality and understanding, adding that it also showed that "the Turkish people will be on your side. Once again Turkey commits itself to the same confident hands."
Amine Gemayel, former Lebanese president, who also delivered a speech at the congress, said Turkey extended support to the Arab nations regardless of their ethnic and religious identities, adding that Arab nations could take a positive model in Turkey which he said had found a delicate harmony between religious values and secularism, modernity and tradition, the East and the West.
