ANKARA
Turkish spokesman has said that 11 Lebanese citizens who were earlier kidnapped in Syria were not in Turkey.
Selcuk Unal, spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, said that Turkish authorities held consultations with Lebanese officials about an information that "kidnapped Lebanese citizens were in good condition, they would be released and were expected to enter Turkey".
"But so far the mentioned Lebanese citizens did not enter Turkey," he said.
Unal said that Turkey attached a great importance to peace and stability in Lebanon and had close relations with all sections in the Lebanese people.
Turkey believed that tension targeting stability in Lebanon should be eased as soon as possible, he said and added that Turkey was ready to do its utmost regarding the matter.
