AA correspondent Leys el-Cuneydi and photo journalist Salah Malkavi were released after 4-hour custody on Sunday.
Cuneydi told AA correspondent that they went to the Syrian border to cover the entrance of a group of Syrian refugees to Jordan and asked permission from the guards for that coverage. Instead of a reply, Cuneydi and Malkavi was taken to the headquarters of the border forces by a military vehicle and taken into custody there.
AA team said that during their custody, border forces arrested six armed people trying to sneak Jordan from Syria. Following their arrest, AA team was forced to sign a document stating they would not enter the border region and would not take photos there anymore. They were released after their equipment were examined.
