Malcolm Hoenlein, a senior U.S. Jewish community representative, said earlier this week that the Jewish community in Turkey feels safe.
During a major Jewish conference held in Jerusalem, Hoenlein said that the “Turkish government does its best to keep its own Jewish community safe.”
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had received a number of Jewish community leaders last week.
During the meeting, the repair of relations between Turkey and Israel, which had been damaged following the Mavi Marmara incident, was discussed.
