ANKARA
Turkey’s annual inflation in January declined sharply in January, official data showed Tuesday.
The Consumer Price Index rose at an annual rate of 7.24 percent, down from 8.17 percent as reported in December, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement.
"In January 2015, the indices rose for food and non-alcoholic beverages 3.52 percent, for miscellaneous goods and services 2.52 percent, for furnishings and household equipment 2.01 percent, and for recreation and culture 1.64 percent," the statement said.
Clothing and footwear decreased in price, according to the statement.
