DIYARBAKIR (AA) - “I came with the aim of supporting the solution process,” leader of the autonomous Kurdish government in northern Iraq Masoud Barzani said, referring to Turkey's solution process for Kurdish issue, in the southeastern Turkish city of Diyarbakir.
Noting the profound history of Diyarbakır, where he was visiting on the invitation of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Barzani told an AA correspondent, “I am very hopeful, great things will happen. Everyone saw what kind of immense changes happened. Especially for the Kurdish people, great things happened. I am very very hopeful, both because of being here, and because of developments.”
Barzani later met with Diyarbakir Mayor Osman Baydemir.
