Hungarian Turcologist Hovari appointed as Hungary's ambassador to Turkey

BUDAPEST (AA) - July 31, 2012 - Hungary's Deputy Foreign Minister, Turcologist Prof. Janos Hovari has been appointed as Hungary's ambassador to Turkey.

Hovari will succeed Istvan Szabo in Ankara, and will take up his appointment on Wednesday.
Hovari has served abroad in Israel and Kuwait as Hungary's ambassador to these countries previous years and has been deputy foreign minister of Hungary since 2011.
He studied Turcology at Budapest's Elte University and finished his degree in 1979.
Hovari can speak Turkish, German and English.
