JERUSALEM
Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Rifat Hisarciklioglu was elected as President of the Jerusalem International Arbitration Center.
The center works to solve disputes between Palestinian and Israeli businessmen.
Rifat Hisarciklioglu arrived in Israel on Wednesday.
Hisarciklioglu visited the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and later proceeded to Ramallah to hold talks with the Union of Palestinian Chambers.
After completing talks in Ramallah, Hisarciklioglu returned to Jerusalem.
Hisarciklioglu held talks with the co-presidents of the Jerusalem Arbitration Center and attended a signature ceremony.
Speaking after the signature ceremony, Palestinian co-president of the Center Munip Al Masri said that there could not be a better name other than Hisarciklioglu for the position of President of the Jerusalem Arbitration Center.
Israeli co-president of the Center Oren Shackar stressed that the Center would be a bridge for the peace process.
Hisarciklioglu, in his part, said that the Center gave hope for commercial relations to be without problems in the future.
"We need dialogue. We need to establish more platforms in order to work together," Hisarciklioglu noted.
"Ending quotas and customs duties carry high importance," Hisarciklioglu also said.
